Director's Message & Institutional Purpose

Empowering Lives, Transforming Futures

At Sanfields Business and Technology Training Institute, education is regarded as a foundation for practical skills development, personal discipline, professional competence and meaningful contribution to society.

The Institute is guided by the conviction that every learner should have access to relevant training that enables them to realise their potential, improve their livelihoods and participate productively in national development.

Sanfields was established to provide accessible, relevant and quality technical and vocational education in fields that respond to the needs of learners, employers and communities.

Institutional Purpose: Sanfields is committed to quality education, practical skills development, innovation, character formation, leadership development and community transformation.

Institutional Legacy: The Institute's legacy will be defined by the quality of its graduates, the opportunities created for learners and the contribution made to families, communities and wider society. When a learner gains a skill, secures employment or starts a business, a family and community gain new hope.

Our Heritage & Campus Setting

History of Establishment

SIBT is a newly constructed Technical and Vocational Education and Training institute established to provide high-quality, market-oriented training in business and technical disciplines. As a new institution, it does not have a prior operating history; instead, its foundation is anchored on excellence, relevance, and readiness to equip learners with practical competencies for employment, entrepreneurship, and lifelong learning.

SIBT is situated in Kirinyaga County, approximately 120 kilometres from Nairobi, Kenya's capital city. While the Institute is outside the capital, its location is highly accessible: it is about 4 kilometres off the main Nairobi–Nyeri Highway and 1 kilometre from the Kibirigwi–Baricho–Kerugoya Road, an all-weather road linking the Institute to surrounding towns and communities.

Its modern classrooms, practical training workshops, hostel accommodation (Ksh 12,500/semester), dining facilities, and student support services enable learners to live, study, and interact within a secure residential setting with minimal travel disruption.
